In general cellular respiration there are 3 separate processes. Glycolysis, the Krebs Cycle, and the electron transport chain (and oxidative phosphorylation). You can rate how much energy each pathway produces by comparing how much ATP they produce because ATP is the primary energy molecule in the body. That is how you know how much energy is produced.
For each molecule of glucose metabolized, glycolysis gives you 2 ATP.
