To my knowledge synthetic varnishes developed after ww2 are very hard to remove after about 20 years, since the molecules have by then interlinked.
Subject is synthetic varnish removal of varnishes applied to to oil paintings.
How controllable is monoethanolamine deluted with water, and glycol-ether as widely available as a wax and acrylic stripper.
The use in this case would be applied with a cuetip highly deluted with water under close examination. If succesful it would be neutralized immediately with ??? Naptha? alkaline solution, such as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)? Can you give me some help or suggestions? Provide as much detail as possible.
Sincerely and thanks.
