Ethanoic acid.doc
Ethanoic acid (CH3COOH), isoamyl alcohol, sulfuric acid, isoamyl acetate
and water will be in the mixture after the reaction but before adding
NaHCO3. Also include the ionized molecules in the list, for example,
HSO4-, SO42-, H3O+, protonated isoamyl alcohol(add a proton to the
hydroxyl), CH3COO-, etc.?
Acidic molecules (acidity from strong to weak):
H2SO4, protonated isoamyl alcohol (add a proton to the hydroxyl), H3O+,
HSO4-, Ethanoic acid, water, isoamyl alcohol.
From the table, ethanoic acid and stronger acids will react with NaHCO3.
So,
synthesis of 3-methylbutyl ethanoate - Please help me with part 4 of the attached problem. And please tell me if parts 1-3 are correct (these answers are in the second attachment).
Thanks!
Balancing acetic acid to calcium ethanoate equation?? - I was able to balance a formic acid to calcium methanoate equation as follows:
3CH2O2 + 2CaCO3 = 2(CHO2)Ca + 3CO2 + 2H2O
However, I have tried and tried and cannot seem to balance an acetic acid ...
A Lactone Synthesis Problem - A Lactone Synthesis Problem
Please see the file attached for the diagram.
Please show all work.
Thanks
Synthesis and Recrystallization of Asprin - I have attached two documents:
1. The first document includes the problems that I need to answer.
2. The second document contains some background information and procedures that may be helpful ...
Fatty acid oxidation and fatty acid synthesis - Metabolism uses various ways to ensure that 2 opposing pathways do not occur at the same time. For the following pair of pathways list 2 ways (different cell location, allosteric effector, covalent m ...
