Cell Phones and PDAs

Cell phones are obviously closing on PDAs and the line between them is becoming very blurred. Is this a wave of the future/present or do think that both have their own place.  In many discussions at work, people think that a single Cell Phone / PDA / computer that is remotely connected is the future. Obviously it would be a great device but also something that I think I would want connected to my body with a chain or some nysteel cable. I would never want to lose it.

How about other technologies? Could this trend be exploding so that all of the technology is rolled together?
My PDA will already function as a TV and stereo remote if I want it to. What's next?
