Multiple TCP connections and its effect on system performance

I cannot figure out how opening multiple simultaneous connections will affect the overall performance of the CPU or are you saying the processor will be stressed with such act that it will eventually collapse? I know the processor deals with each request either by LIFO or FIFO and never gets confused about what to do and I am sure it can handle such pressures like opening multiple pages all at one time well.

Please comment this statement.
