"Battle of Bloody Ridge" (Japanese Perspective Only)

Can anyone help me out with answering the question below?  I have searched abroad and haven't found solid answers from a Japanese perspective.  Everything I have read has purely been from an American perspective.  I need to ascertain Japanese mindset during this particular battle and am currently at a loss.  Also, the book that does have some level of detail regarding the "Battle of Bloody Ridge" from a Japanese perspective is Michael S. Smith's book, "Bloody Ridge: The Battle That Saved Guadalcanal" in World War II; however, I do not have access to the book.  Please someone try and answer this question for me.

Question:  What were the Japanese objectives and plan during the "Battle of Bloody Ridge" which occurred from September 13-15, 1942?  I need to know as much as possible regarding what the Japanese leadership and command were thinking at the time in terms of strategy, what was their actual plan, and what actually happened (both right and wrong) for the Japanese and Japanese only during the "Battle of Bloody Ridge"?

As much information during this particular battle from the Japanese perspective is appreciated in advance.
