1.The sides of a triangle are in the ratio of 3:4:5. If the perimeter is 90 centimeters, find the length of each side. 2.Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the length of the missing side in right triangle. Triangle ABC with right triangle C. a. If a= 3cm and b = 4 cm, find c b. If a=6 yd and c= 11 yd, find b Answe ...continues
The Triangle is 30 degrees , -60 degrees, -90 degrees. Triangle ABC .A is at the top measuring 60 degrees, B is measuring 30 degrees and C is at the right angle. If b = 7cm , find a
Vertex Figures and Arrangements
Find (and describe) all the regular tessellations of the plane. Note that septagons, nonagons, and 11-gons are not provided. How do you know each one you find really fills in all the gaps around a vertex point? How do you know when you're done? (2) Find (and describe) all the semiregular tessellations of the plane ( you will ...continues
Determining the area of a circle segment within a circle
The spreadsheet attachment provides all of the givens and we are asked to determine the central angle, length of a chord, and the area of the identified circle segment?
Find the symmetries of the regular tessellations in a plane
square- we are to explain reflection: how many lines( 2 edges, 2 bisectors, vertex arrangement is order is 4 90degrees, rotation :center of shape is order 4, midpoint is order 2 180. triangle- reflection 6lines(3edges and 3 bisectors), vertex arrangement is very similar to hexagon but(please explain) order 6 (60 degrees) ...continues
Some people believe that calculators have eliminated the need to learn the skills to perform mathematical operations by hand. State your position on this belief, and then support your position with real-life stories or examples
An overview of the theory and results on tessellations of three types of Riemann surfaces: the Euclidean plane, the sphere and the hyperbolic plane. Roughly speaking, a tessellation of a space is a pattern which, repeated infinitely many times, fills the space without overlaps or gaps . From a mathematical point of view, tesse ...continues
1. During the last hour, a telemarketer dialed 20 numbers and reached 4 busy signals, 3 answering machines, and 13 people. Use this information to determine the empirical probability that the next call will be answered in person. 2. If you roll a die many times, what would you expect to be the relative frequency of rolling ...continues
1. The objective of statistics is best described as: a) To make inferences about a sample based on information we get from a population b) To use population mean, m as an estimate of the sample mean, c) To make inferences about a population based on information we get from a sample taken from the population d) To make inf ...continues
Transformation of the graph of a function
See file for an example from textbook. I plugged in x^2 + 6x + 10 into my calculator and got the required graph and the answer of -3 units parallel to the x-axis. But how does one come to this answer of -3units 'manually' without using a calculator? Thank you.
