Find the speed of a point on the rim of the wheel in terms of the acceleration of gravity and the radius of the wheel

Trying to visualize this scenario so I can draw a picture, but I am drawing a blank. I think that I have to use the mgh equation and mv^2/r equation. Also, do you think you could offer some additional questions that might be relevant to this problem so I can practice. See attached file for full problem description.

Torques on a boom in equilibrium.

A uniform boom is at an angle of 45 degrees from the ground. It is held in place by a frictionless pin at ground level. Weight A= 2230 nt is suspended from its upper end and the boom's weight B= 441 nt. A cable from its upper end to ground level makes angle 30 degrees with the ground. See ATTACHMENT for a diagram. Find T, the t ...continues

Work kinetic energy concepts.

Please see attachments. Energy and Momentum methods Power= mom*ang vel. Please use work kinetic energy concepts.

Torques in equilibrium on a leaning ladder.

A uniform bar of length L= 8 m, whose weight is 420 nt is placed into a totally frictionless, open top box in the shape of a cube whose sides are length s= 4m. Its bottom end is at a lower corner and it extends over the opposite top edge. See ATTACHMENT for a diagram with dimensions. Find P, the force the top edge exerts again ...continues

Gravity field of a hollow planet

A uniform, spherical planet has a spherical space at its center. The radius of the surface of the planet is Rp= 8.9E7 m (8.9 x 10^7 m). The radius of the central hollow space is Rh = 6.2E5 m. The total mass of the planet is M= 7.5E28 kg. The distance from the center to three designated points are: Point a is distance Ra= 9 ...continues

Inertia

A helicopter has 3 blades, each of them are 5.20m long and has a mass of 220kg.(each blade has a mass of 220kg, not the sum of the 3) The rotor is rotating at 385 rev/min. a)What is the rotational inertia of the rotor assembly about the axis of rotation? (Each blade can be considered to be a thin rod rotated about one end.) ...continues

Angular Speed

During the launch from a board, a diver's angular speed about her center of mass changes from zero to 5.40 rad/s in 340 ms. Her rotational inertia about her center of mass is 12.0 kg ยท m^2. a)During the launch, what was the magnitude of her average angular acceleration?____rad/s^2 b)During the launch, what was the magnitu ...continues

Acceleration problem

Figure 11-43 shows two blocks, each of mass m, suspended from the ends of a rigid weightless rod of length L1+L2 with L1 = 19 cm and L2 = 82 cm. The rod is held horizontally on the fulcrum and then released. (a) What is the magnitude of the initial acceleration of the block closer to the fulcrum. ______ m/s2 (b) What is t ...continues

Inertia problem

In Fig. 11-42, one block has a mass M = 500 g, the other has mass m = 460 g, and the pulley, which is mounted in horizontal frictionless bearings, has a radius of 5.00 cm. When released from rest, the heavier block falls 81.5 cm in 2.90 s (without the cord slipping on the pulley). (a) What is the magnitude of the block's acce ...continues
