Take out two sheets of paper. Label the first sheet "academic
intelligence." In 5 minutes, list all of the behaviors that you can
think of that are characteristic of academic intelligence. After
completing this list, put this sheet aside. Label the second sheet
"everyday intelligence" and spend 5 minutes listing behaviors that are
characteristic of this type of intelligence. Include only behaviors on
your list, not people, professions, school subjects, etc.
Do not go back to the previously completed list.
After completing the exercise, post some of the behaviors that you
listed for each category on the Discussion Board.
How do the behaviors that you listed relate to those reported by
Sternberg and his colleagues?
you need to create two lists, as specified in the assignment. Remember
to include them in your post. The lists need to be behaviors only, not
academic subjects, professions, people, or personality traits
(e.g., motivated, considerate, friendly, aggressive, spirited, etc.)
Also, basic skills and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) do not belong
on the lists. These include dressing, washing, walking, talking,
breathing, eating, talking on the phone, etc.). The theoretical piece is
the most important, of course. You need to fully discuss how the list
items relate to Sternberg, et al. Defining Sternberg''s theory is not a
discussion. Focus on how his and other theories reflect your lists
Describe major perspectives of psychological science.
Apply critical thinking skills to the content of the course.
Distinguish differing schools of psychology.
