2002 to present I designed and teach the course, History of the American Indian. This course focuses on the history of Native Americans east of the Mississippi River and in Virginia. DeVry University Online 2003-2005 I taught online Contemporary History which covered the time period from the Industrial Revolution through to the 21st Century. Nexus Learning, Inc. 2001-2003 I taught online middle and high school students who were homebound. The students resided primarily in the mid-Atlantic states. I taught a variety of subjects including US History, World History, Humanities, Psychology and Sociology. Salisbury University 1997-2000 I taught World Civilizations 101 and 102 in the classroom. Salisbury University, The Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture (now known as the Nabb Research Center) 1995-1997 I worked as a Graduate Assistant cataloguing primary source documents and artifacts, and assisting students and other researchers in the use of the primary and secondary sources available at the Center. |
| Skills & Achievements: | I have 10 years experience teaching and tutoring college and high school students, and 30 years experience giving presentations on historical and art historical topics. |
| Career Interests: | I plan to pursue getting my historical research published and possibly acquire a second masters degree. |
| Outside Interests: | I volunteer in the community through the Master Gardners Program, participate in two book groups - one is a Shakespeare group, listen to jazz music and enjoy cooking. |
| Message to Students and/or Parents: |
I have always taken an interest in helping my students achieve their potential. I find tutoring students individually both in the classroom and online very rewarding, and have seen positive results. I approach the subjects of history and art history with enthusiasm, and that helps to motivate my students. |
