PROBLEM STATEMENT

The problem at hand is the various issues involved in doing business in Kava. The country has low cost labor but is also subject to terrorism. Labor laws and health issues are vast, as half of the population is under 15 and the country has a significant AIDS problem. Mother Nature is not kind to this area and the area is subject to volcanic eruptions, typhoons and flooding; which are all significant issues and create a problem for operating a business in this region.

To overcome the hurdles set forth in this part of the world, the following will discuss and outline a plan to help the business make the right decisions and allow for a contingency plan to keep the business operating even when the odds could be against the region, its citizens and the business operations of the company.

1) Apply a decision-making technique to identify the solution(s)

While the opportunities are vast doing business in Kava, the ramifications that are attached to the location are significant. The demographic is relatively young, allowing for low cost labor. The natural disasters and health issues of this region are great, as the location is subjective to volcanic eruptions as well as typhoons and AIDS. Understanding all of these factors allow us to apply decision-making techniques that will help the organization meet these roadblocks head on.
