The Central America Free Trade Agreement, CAFTA, is one of the free trade agreements taken up by America, which involves the Dominican Republic, Central America and the United States. It has been beneficial for the countries regarding the trade and the commercial activities. CAFTA was approved in July 2005. The United Stated has been dealing with most countries as a trade partner for a number of years, but the government policies were such that the US access to the foreign markets was somewhat restricted for the goods manufactured there and other services. It has hugely benefited many industries and business set ups.

Regional integration is the procedure wherein the states enter the regional agreement to increase the regional co-operation, through regional institutions and rules.
