(Hint: You will learn the most if you choose a general quiz, or one that concerns a country with which you are not familiar, as well as test your knowledge of a culture with which you think you are highly familiar.)

Specifically, you can explore some aspects of your cultural awareness. Click on this link to Kwintessential Language and Culture Specialists. You will find a selection of 20 or so cultural awareness quizzes. Choose one or two that looks interesting to you. (Hint: You will learn the most if you choose a general quiz, or one that concerns a country with which you are not familiar, as well as test your knowledge of a culture with which you think you are highly familiar.)

When you have completed the assessments, to the degree that you are able to, think about it for a bit; then reply to the following points:

* a brief summary of your experience taking the assessments -- which ones did you do, and why
* the degree to which your cultural awareness as indicated by the assessment fits your self-image, or constitutes a surprise in some ways
* what you can infer from these assessments about your cultural awareness
* any areas in which the assessments suggested that you might have cultural awareness problems to overcome
* what specific steps you could take to strengthen your overall managerial competence, based on the new insights that you have gained from these assessments -- be as specific as you can, in the interests of getting the most value from the exercise for yourself
* your overall opinion of these instruments as a measure of things related to personal managerial competence -- what they measure well, anything that you believe they do not measure well or at all

Any overall comments you care to make as to why is it important for managers to increase their levels of cultural awareness.

AN: I did the Chinese culture assessment because it recommended doing one that I least know, which I thought was a good idea to learn something new about a culture. My experience was a positive one as I found the questions interesting and found myself comparing the answers to my own culture.
