Porter's five forces are the rivalry in the industry, which refers to competition within the industry. Barriers to entry refer to cost advantages, access to inputs, government policy, and switching costs. Threat of substitutes refers to the buyer inclination to go in for substitutes, price performance and trade off of substitutes. The buyer power refers to bargaining leverage, buyer information, and price sensitivity and buyer volume. The supplier power refers to supplier concentration, differentiation of inputs, and presence of substitute inputs. Let us consider the barriers to entry. These can be used for sustained competitive advantage. The industry is commercial aircraft manufacturing, the barriers to entry has left the industry with Boeing and Airbus in the industry. The barriers give these companies sustained competitive advantage.

The first strategic leadership style is the instruct style where the leader focuses on the task alone. The second strategic leadership style is that the leader focuses on the person and work combines.
