Reduction of Conjugated Ketones with Sodium Borohydride
Not what you're looking for?
Suggest mechanisms of reaction for 1,2-addition and for conjugate addition (1,4-addition) of NaBH4 to a conjugated ketone such as 2-cyclohexnone.
I have attempted the mechanisms I know and followed the ones in the text but I am having no luck. We are told not to worry for mechanisms but as this question states "suggest", and my suggestion are way off, I would really like to know the mechanism to this please. Thank you!
