!. Security fits into national security in two ways. First, the citizens of the US must feel free from threats and dangers. Second, the government must undertake to provide security to its citizens. National security means the extent of safety the country provides against threats such as terrorism, spies, and war(1).
The rule of law fits into national security because the rule of law implies that every citizen in the United States is accountable to the same laws (2). The rule of law fits into national security because the violation of national security is linked to the violation of the rule of law. For example, a terrorist violates the rule of law. The threat to national security would be greatly reduced if the rule of law was followed.

The role of constitutional values in national security is extensive. The constitutional values include the right to life, economic freedom, "pursuit of happiness", and liberty (3). If there is a violation of national security the constitutional values will be violated. For example, if there is the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction the right to life, economic freedom, and liberty will be compromised.

In this context, the President frames and forms the foreign policy that is implemented through treaties with other countries. The president supports national security by appointing ambassadors. Moreover, his key role in national security is that he is the commander in chief of the armed forces. The president interacts with the National Security Council which is the main forum for discussing national security because his key advisors are members of the NSC. The president discusses his foreign policy initiatives with the NSC and the NSC also helps coordinate national security policies across different agencies.

The president chairs the NSC and the council includes the Secretary of State, the Vice President, the Secretary of the Treasury, the Attorney General, The Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the representative of the US to the United Nations, the Secretary of Energy, the Chief of Staff to the President and other officials important to national security. The NSC advises the president on matters relating to domestic national security, the military, and foreign policy matters. The NSC aligns diplomatic and military requirements and commitments. According to the Bible, the Lord supports efforts and preparations for national security. "I have set the Lord always before me because he is my right hand. I shall not be shaken" (See; Psalm: 16:8)

2. The law plays an important part in National Security. The National Security Act was signed into law which provides a substantial program for the future security of the US (4).
