The personal satisfaction of knowing that I helped cause that excitement is one reason I want to be a teacher.

I have a very strong interest in my subject matter (math), but also interests in a variety of other areas, such as sports, music, and visual art, which means that I am able to incorporate a variety of topics into my content area. Teaching will provide me opportunities to use a variety of interests in one area.

2. What characteristics do you possess that you believe will make you an effective teacher?
