It is easy to surmise that the parent (either a mother or a father) is having issues in communicating and establishing/managing a relationship with his/her daughter. For the purpose of this discussion, I shall surmise that the parent is a mom as perspective-wise, it is important to consider gender in communication and family relationships. Mother-daughter relationships can be complex - they can be best friends, they can be ambivalent towards each other, but they are also female which means that they are subject to issues and moods in the female gender.
