You are provided with the male and female unemployment data for the 1960-2005 periods. Using these two samples, determine whether the data support the conclusion that female unemployment rate is higher than the male unemployment rate. Use 0.01 level of significance.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Go to the blackboard, assignment section and save the file named as the two sample test.
Open the file and save the data given by the table as an excel file.
2. Open “Tools” from the Toolbar and select “Data Analysis”. Select the “t-Test: Two- sample Assuming Unequal Variances. Follow the instructions and obtain the computer printout. You have to answer the following based on the printout and the class lecture on chapter 10.
3. State the null and alternative hypotheses
4. Decide whether to accept or reject the null hypothesis
