International Style refers to a stylistic movement that developed around 1920-30, after the first World War. The three most prominent names in this stylistic movement (in architecture and furniture design) were Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Walter Gropius of Germany, and Le Courbusier of France. American architects included in this stylistic movement include Frank Lloyd Wright, whose work reflected similar stylistic details, even though he is generally classed with other movements. The group, or school of design and thought that accompanied this style, was known as Bauhaus in Europe.
