Identify the difference between analog and digital signals.
Analog signals have been around for a very long time. While digital signals, on the other hand, are relatively new. Analog signals are pulses or waves of sounds or signals that are transmitted by one device and received by another. Digital signals, though, are electronic transmissions that are sent in binary format (or 1's and 0's). This data is then translated by a device that can interpret the numbers. There advantages and disadvantages to both. Analog is becoming ancient and is; therefore, more likely to be outdated. But, for some audiophiles, phone calls on analog phones are more pleasing to the ear, where digital phone calls are more "artificial" sounding. Digital signals, though, can be transmitted much faster, in most instances, and this often implies lower costs, too.
