Research has shown that work outcomes in global organizations with transformational leaders facilitate innovative behavior across boundaries and industries with social identity theory at the core of their organizational culture have employees who highly identify with the organization, their fellow teams, and their department. Research has shown that benevolent leaders are synonymous with transformational leadership because they help transform employees' and elicit support through compassion, care, and concern for their employees' well-being and career prospects.

Organizations' possess boundaries within different departments, but social identity between groups can be developed wherein employees develop a sense of identity with the company, their department, and their coworkers that helps assist the company in creating innovative strategies that will transform the company.
