The age of jurisdiction in most states is 16 or 17 years. In 2002 there was a study conducted by the United States Department of Justice in which they found that 37 states had juvenile courts that had jurisdiction over offenders under the age of 18 and in 10 states, the courts had jurisdiction for offenders under the age of 17. There were three states, Connecticut being one of them that had the juvenile court system have jurisdiction for offenders under 16 years of age.

This website https://www.ncjrs.gov/html/ojjdp/9912_2/juv5.html provides a chart of the age of jurisdiction for juveniles by state. This chart is dated back however to 1997. I cannot find any information more recent than 2002.
