P.S. I've pasted in the document here below, but don't worry about that. It looks way better and is much easier to follow in the Word document.
1. a. What is the wavelength (in meters) of electromagnetic radiation broadcast by an FM radio station with a frequency of 106.1 MHz?
=c
That means that the wavelength () times the frequency () = the speed of light (c).
106.1 MHz is frequency (s-1)
M = Mega = 1x106
Therefore, 106.1 MHz = 106.1x106 Hz = 1.061x108 Hz = 1.061x108 s-1
To find wavelength, we rearrange the equation like this:
=c/
Now, we just solve for wavelength ().
 = (3.00x108 m/s)/( 1.061x108 s-1) = 2.83 m
b. What is the frequency (in Hertz) of electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength of 532.6 nm?
You do this one the same as the first question, except here you're starting with wavelength and have to calculate the frequency.
nm = nanometer = 1x10-9 m
Therefore, 532.6 nm = 532.6x10-9 m = 5.326x10-7 m
Rearrange the equation to look like this: ...
