Consider the following scenario: You are a plant foreperson at a highly-productive and competitive factory. Your manager approaches you with a concern about last month's productivity for the unit for which you are responsible. She tells you that productivity has markedly dropped off, and that the best way to solve this issue is to implement a new piece of automating technology currently being used by a competing factory. You are in agreement with this, but you know your employees will be resistant to adopting this new technology. They will be concerned that this new technology will make some of them obsolete and ultimately cost them their jobs. How can you use human relations theory to convince your employees to adopt this new technology?

Dear Student,
Hi and thank you for using Brainmass. The solution below should get you started. What you are being asked here to do is to apply HRT to the situation described. Before going any further, it is best to 'attack' the problem by building an outline. I suggest the following:

1. Introduction - what is HRT? Around 150 words.
2. A brief of the Situation - about 100 words.
3. Application - about 250 words.

The above outline will cover all that is necessary to answer the problem. If you have any questions just let me know via the feedback section. You can also explore the listed resources to further study the topic. Good luck!

Sincerely,
OTA 105878/Xenia Jones
